Letters 441: Of Piano, The Stars & The Orphanages

Vincent Van Gogh once said:

"What is done in love is done well."

To you whom I haven't met yet,

Today as you can guess, my thoughts are with you more than ever. So perhaps the best plan would be to give you an insight of my immediate surroundings.

As usual, today I was there at the orphanage for my usual routine of teaching them. Although a trifle muddy around my shoes as a result of heavy rain, I am well, much better than the kids here in the orphanage. I could be a lot worse off both in health & conditions but I guess God really blessed me.

It is very quiet at present (7.20 p.m.) & I can only hear a few voices as just a mumble. Also the noise of trucks as they pass up & down the road only a few hundred metres away. Green leaves are already appearing in the pots lined next to the front entrance & it reminds me of a typical spring day back when I was in Nami Island (South Korea). But with one exception & that is the absence of birds of any description
Anyway, fellow volunteers at the orphanage have got hold of an old broken Yamaha piano which is used for every job apart from what it was made for. In fact my hummingbird, I used it myself earlier today as a writing table. Even though broken, it can be played & is hammered by almost every kids there.

Still, I hope I can manage a sing-song with the aid of the piano when any of the kids at the orphanage birthday comes along.

441 letters still could not describe how much I wish you can be here to live my life together. But until then, live your life to the fullest.

I hope you will follow the stars home if you ever lost in your life one day.

Yours truly,

The Half Moon Serenades,

Letters 440: This is Life!

Audrey Hepburn once said:

"To be happy, it is all that matters."

To you whom I haven't met yet,

I haven't been able to write for the past few days, very busy & under very bad weather. We now have heavy rain, in fact it has been raining for the past three days & condition are rather damp. However, being a positive person, I have no reason to grumble as things could always be worse.

Sometimes I wonder who has the hardest job, me here in this fully air-conditioned office or the folks digging the road out there. Still my hummingbird, this is life & I suppose all we can do is give our best. At the same time, I hope the public holiday will be here soon. I am becoming rather tired of it myself now.

Anyway, all the letters are our only link with each other at this moment. It does make a big difference, a stress reliever for me every time I penned it. In fact all the difference in the world. Won't it be fun when we can write to each other in this traditional way one day & actually read it back as we grow older together? Such fun. To judge by the amount of my letters (440 letters in 8 years to be exact), it looks like as if all you will be able to do is listen in the future, listening to my rantings.

Oh, lately I have a taste for foreign food. French food to be exact. What is meant by the words 'steak au poivre'? Now if you said to me it was a dish of meat, you will be surprise if I prepared it for you one day. Just wait for it one day.

Until then, have yourself a wonderful day.

Love for you is not a because, it's a no matter what.

Letters 439: Mother, Loving You to the Moon & Back

Karl Lagerfeld once said:

“The only love that I really believe in is a mother’s love for her children.”

Dear mother,

I believe that love is about being happy for you when you are happy, being sad with you when they you are sad, simply, being together in good times & being together in bad times.

I believe that love is about being honest with you at all times, being honest with by telling, listening, respecting the truth & never pretending.

I believe that love is about an understanding so complete that I can feel as if I am a part of you, accepting you just the way you are & not trying to change you to be something else.

I believe that love is about the freedom for your own desires while sharing your experiences with me.

I believe that love is about the excitement of us planning things together, the excitement of us doing things together like the fury of the storm & the calm in the rainbow.

I believe that love is about giving & taking in a daily situation, being patient with each other's needs & desires

But most of all, I believe that love is about knowing that I will always be with you regardless of what happens, missing you when you are away but remaining near in your heart at all times.

And that is the groovy kind of love that we shared together as time goes by.

I love you mother. Happy Mother's Day.

To you whom I haven't met yet,

Well, I will definitely love your mother as much as I loved my mother. But as time goes by, if you ever grace my life, I hope you will be a good mother to our kids too. I am sure you will complete me in every way a man deserved to be loved.

Loving you (all three of you) to the moon & back,

The Half Moon Serenades.

Letter 438: Of Guitar, Painter's Brush & Love

Winston Churchill once said:

"If you are going through hell, you might as well keep going".

To you whom I haven't met yet,

Here I am again for a few words to you before I go for a dinner. I won't be able to say a great deal but I will continue until the rest of the chaps (my former colleagues) start to ask a few gentle questions as to how long before I finished. I guess the sooner I finish, the faster everyone can go to the restaurant.

You see your wee man here thought it will be a good idea to played his guitar  before he started to pen this letter. By the way, my guitar was a bit damaged but I spent all my free time yesterday (Labour's Day) doing my best to make it serviceable for today. You have no idea of the remarks which are passed about the guitar by the chaps & how I've carried it everywhere in my home. But they don't understand, do they my hummingbird?

Anyway, I certainly will sing you a song for you with this old faithful guitar on your birthday. If all goes well & the condition are in anyway decent, I will be able to do justice to the guitar as well as it sort of makes up for my very poor voice & like the painter's brush, covers all the flaws.

Well, my time is up for today. Always another day nearer the end & another letter dedicated to you. I hope you will be able to read all my letters in future & live this beautiful life together with me. Love is the bridge between you, me & everything. I must say cheerio in the meantime.
