Letters 431: February & Always

Khalil Gibran once said:

"And stand together, yet not too near together, for the pillars of the temple stand apart & the oak tree with the cypress grow not in each other's shadow."

To you whom I have met,

For a day, for just one day every year, I have learned that my heart will get what it prays for & that day is today.

Did you remember what I said about the power of hug? For me, hug is the universal medicine whenever we slipped into depression. A hug is like a handshake from the heart and worth a thousands words.

Hugging has no unpleasant side effects and is all natural. There are no batteries to replace, it's inflation-proof and non-fattening with no monthly payments. It's non-taxable, non-polluting, and is, of course, fully refundable. In another words, hug will be the shortest between me and you, one day.

I love hugging. I'd always hope that human is like an octopus, so I could hug ten people at a time. But at the end of the day, the hug from you is the one that I will cherish the most in my life.

I miss you, in February & always .
Yours truly,

Lettters 430: Wider than A Smile

Khwāja Shams-ud-Dīn Muhammad Hāfez-e Shīrāzī (Hafez) once said:

"With a love like that, it lights the whole sky."

To you whom I haven't met yet,

Life for me, will always be beautiful. I learned that life is simply a collection of little lives, each lived one day at a time. I learned that each day should be spent finding beauty in life, that a day spent with happy heart cannot be bettered.

But most of all, I learned that life is as kind as I let it be. Sometimes, people asked me why on earth that I smiled for no particular reason? But it was only a sunny smile & little it cost in the giving. Like the morning light, it scattered the gloomy life of the night & made my day worth living.

Dear you, I know it seems hard sometimes in life but remember one thing. Through every dark night, there is a bright day after that. So no matter how hard it get, stick you smile out, keep your head up & never, never, never give up. Life was meant to be lived & smile must be kept alive. You must never, for whatever reason, turn your back on life.

This is my 430 letters to you in 9 years. I woke up as the sun was rising & that was one of the distinct time every day in my life that I loved. Yes, I was far away from you, but I wasn't scared. I know that deep in my heart, I just haven't met you yet. Until then, I am in peace by not avoiding my life.

Cheerios hummingbird,
