Of Suicide & Hope

Mahatma Gandhi once said:

"When I despair, I remember that all through history the way of truth and love have always won."

Dear suiciders,
Life does not run along a straight line; rather it is a journey punctuated by a series of ups and downs. He, who is able to accept the twists but maintains his equanimity, inspired by absolute faith, is bound to rise high.

The tendency in us usually is to bemoan our fate. Often we may be heard to mutter, "I am tired of living". Even day-to-day (small) problems snowball into major crises.

This outlook should be changed and hope is the essence of life and we should use it for good because lack of inspiration occasionally comes to haunt even eminent persons.

I have found the reality in life, that if you hope until it hurts, there can be no more hurt, only more hope. Always remember that where there is hope there is life.

Perhaps all the tiger in our lives are princesses who are only waiting to see us act, just once, with beauty and courage. Perhaps everything that frightens us is, in its deepest essence, something helpless that wants our hope.

And perhaps at the end of the day, the groovy kind of hope is equal to the love in your heart.

To you whom I've met, exactly four months ago, we fell in love, despite our differences and our groovy kind of friendship for five years. But once we did, something rare and beautiful was created. Something that I called forever love.

Sometimes the questions are complicated and the answers is are simple. I'd remember few years back when someone shouted to me that  I won't find any girl in this world that wiling to be simple and I replied, I believe in hope. And here I am with you, my hope and my simple destiny.

I love you Rin. Always remember my hummingbird, that life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance, you must keep moving and for us, to keep loving each other, we need to move forward together, side by side, hands in hands.

Until then, put in your heart the fact that I had fallen in love with you way before we knew each other. 356 love letters can't described how grateful I am to have you in my life but again, love looks not with the eyes but with my mind.

With love,

The Happiness In Promises

John Lennon of The Beatles fame once said:

"Count your age by friends, not years. Count your life by smiles, not tears."

Today is the D-Day for my other half. By this time, she is sitting for the exam & that is why I'm writing this. Through these brief words, I’m going to paint not just her day, but everyone life  with vibrant shades of happiness & life full of promises.

            Promise your loved ones:

To be so strong that nothing can disturb your peace of mind,
To talk health, happiness & prosperity to every person you meet.

To make all your friends feel that there is something in them,
To look at the sunny side of everything & make your optimism come true.

To think only the best, to work only for the best & to expect only the best,
To be just as enthusiastic about the success of others as you are about your own.

To forget the mistakes of the past & press on to the greater achievements of the future,
To wear a cheerful countenance at all times & give every living creature you meet a smile.

To give so much time to the improvement of yourself that you have no time to criticize others,
To be too large for worry, too noble for anger, too strong for fear, too happy to permit the presence of trouble.

To think well of yourself and to proclaim this fact to the world, not in loud words but great deeds,
To live in faith that the whole world is on your side so long as you are true to the best that is in you.

And perhaps, a groovy kind of happiness is just around the corner for me, her,  you and the other half of your sky.

For the other half of my sky, you're my everything and always.

Easy Life vs Difficult Life?

Elbert Hubbard once said:

“God will not look you over for medals, degrees or diplomas but for scars.”

Sometimes in our life, we often misunderstood the difference between the words 'easy' and 'difficult'. We tend to repeat the same mistake where simple and easy things being settled through hard and difficult way. Perhaps we didn't discovered the secret yet?

Easy is to get a place in someone's address book,
Difficult is to get a place in someone's heart.

Easy is to judge the mistakes of others,
Difficult is to recognize our own mistakes.

Easy is to talk without thinking,
Difficult is to refrain the tongue.

Easy is to hurt someone who loves us, Difficult is to heal the wound.

Easy is to forgive others,
Difficult is to ask for forgiveness,

Easy is to set rules,
Difficult is to follow them.

Easy is to dream every night,
Difficult is to fight for a dream.

Easy is to show victory,
Difficult is to assume defeat with dignity.

Easy is to admire a full moon,
Difficult to see the other side.

Easy is to stumble with a stone,
Difficult is to get up.

Easy is to enjoy life every day,
Difficult is to give its real value.

Easy is to pray every night,
Difficult is to find God in small things.

Easy is to promise something to someone,
Difficult is to fulfill that promise.

Easy is to say we love,
Difficult is to show it every day.

Easy is to criticize others,
Difficult is to improve oneself.

Easy is to make mistakes,
Difficult is to learn from them.

Easy is to weep for a lost love,
Difficult is to take care of it so you wont lose it.

Easy is to think about improving,
Difficult is to stop thinking it and put it into action.

Easy is to think bad of others,
Difficult is to give them the benefit of the doubt.

Easy is to receive,
Difficult is to give.

Easy is to keep friendship with words,
Difficult is to keep it with meanings.

It is just a groovy kind of life, sometimes beautiful things come into our lives out of nowhere. We can't always understand them, but we have to trust in them. I know some of you want to question everything, but sometimes it pays to just have a little faith.

Perhaps it can be one giant leap to a better future.

To you whom I have met, did you know that happiness depends upon ourselves? Now and then, it's good to pause in your pursuit of happiness and just be happy because the happiness of your life depends upon the quality of your thoughts.

Be like a child my dearest hummingbird. Children are happy because they don't have a file in their minds called "All the Things That Could Go Wrong". You see, everyone wants to live on top of the mountain, but all the happiness and growth occurs while you're climbing it.

It is hard for me to be there with you in Malacca when I am far away at north in Penang. But they say, a person needs just three things to be truly happy in this world: someone to love, something to do, and something to hope for.

And I am here, always with you, in your heart and mind. I love you Rin.

Loving you,

The Half Moon Serenades.
